   Time to screen print the poem. I spent a whole day cutting stencils and mixing ink.  I cut 9 pieces of BFK Rives to size. And then the printmkaing studio was closed due to snow as the technician couldn't get in. Yesterday however, it was open and I packed my little shopping trolley and armed with two huge bags with metal framed screens (70cm X 50cm) I left at 10.15am, drove to Oxford, parked in the freezing parking lot and walked over to the studio.     This was how the process worked so far: I cut the letters out freehand onto 130gsm paper with hand drawn lines. The letters are all about 13mm tall. I needed the letters to be white and the background black. The original had pencil lines from the guidelines and where I needed a little help on S's and B's and had drawn them letters in pencil first.   Here is my sketch. I'll screenprint it as follows:  1) Flesh colour for Rhododendron  2) Neon pink for Rhododendron 3) Yellow for two strips of colour 4) Lime green for two strips of colour 5) Deep mauve "tips spilling colour" strip 6) Violet background to lettering at top verse, over yellow strip so that the yellow shows through. 7) Light purple middle background to letters 8) Light blue-violet at the bottom. 9) Black for buzzing bee and some outlines on Rhododendron.
