This is the art of Japanese braiding. If you look at yesterday's post you'll see the complete artwork I did. I thought you'd like to see how to do it. It is somewhere between making bobbin lace and French knitting. So you can try it and even teach a child of about 8. Kumihimo is the traditional Japanese art of braiding silk threads weighted with bobbins on a marudai.
