There is a real dilemma when studying and trying to emulate the work of David Jones, Welsh artist/poet/writer. I recently ran a study course on his work in South Africa. The dilemma arises because his work is deeply personal, idiosyncratic, often badly drawn and yet musical and delightful. It is like trying to sing with someone elses' voice.
