My first solo exhibition

...and it is in Wantage Museum, in a delightful little room - not too large and scary. I could not have wished for a nicer looking room. And at the entrance, on the floor, the title. My pebbles have certainly come in useful! I have all 14 Rope of Words illustrations and my new 7 Dance illustrations.  And we had a fireplace to use. Letting go…then rejoicing!

Have you ever experienced planning a project, visualising it and then being disappointed with the result? This happened to me with my silk cover for Dance, the book that I'm about to have printed. I was going to screenprint the covers on paper or silk. I imagined a richly glossy print and instead it was pale, disappointing and putrid. Calligraphic dancers

I'll continue with the rather provacative post about artists' integrity next Wednesday. In the meantime I have now completed another five dancers for my book. This slim volume of poetry by Christopher Ellott will have seven dancers. Christopher has written seven poems in response to the paintings and today I went off to my printer for quotations.
