The banners are hoisted. Now looking up... What a relief - the fabric worked well, the hoisting went smoothly (in the end) and the banners have been well-received.Huge thanks to Jude, Dave and Jerry for their help. Yesterday you saw the thumbnails of the banners we are making for Chilton Village church.Jude and I went shopping and bought: 8 meters of 120cm wide purple banner fabric. (for 3 four meter banners, 60cm wide)1 meter of gold lamé1 meter of medium weight fusible vilene (Fliselina)2 meters bondaweb (50cm wide)Bondaweb is also iron on and can be bought paper backed by the meter (my preference)or without paper. Christmas Banners
I'm planning some purple and gold Christmas banners for the village church. There will be three banners hanging one behind the other from the centre beams, saying holy, holy holy.Understated and hopefully effective. Here is a thumbnail sketch. The biggest problem was whether or not we could hoist them without bringing a crane into the church - or scaffolding.
