I showed the magnificent Angel of the North yesterday. After seeing this incredible work of art, (this was a few years ago when I was more naive about travel in Britain) my South African friend Heleen and I decided we HAD to visit Liverpool to see Another Place, also by Antony Gormley. I visited the Northumbrian Scribes at Bede's World in Jarrow near Newcastle on the weekend to give a workshop on The Art of Kilian. I left home at 10.00am and arrived in Morpeth at 5.00pm - a long day of travel, but worth it!We used Herman Kilian's work as starting point, analysing his letter forms in relation to Trajan Caps.
