Untraditional Gilding
Two of the untraditional gilding methods applied to leaves was to gild a real leaf, and also to cut a tiny stencil and colour the shape in a high quality wax crayon, gild then "sgraffito" the gold with a fine nib. The 2011 Oxford Summer school began with about 400 participants meeting their tutors in the tutor exhibtion hall then setting up in classrooms to begin a week of art, craft, music or drama.
