Tulip stylisation

June 6, 2016 by Lin Kerr Leave a Comment

You’ll be hearing about tulips for the next five weeks as Tulipmania sets in here!

I will be in the Ucare charity tent at Art in Action 2016 as one of their artists, and I will be showing my oil paintings, doing an interactive group project and we’ll be selling greeting cards. Oh, and tulip bulbs of course – the Ucare ‘Tulipa Caresse’ which you can order now (or at AinA) so that next summer you’ll have a wonderful display.

05-05-16 Caresse2-lrI am designing a set of greetings cards using this tulip. As you can see, it is a delicate pink and when partially open, its petals are slightly rounded at the tip – unless furled, and the overall shape is like a U with slightly splayed sides.tulips and leaves1-lrI enjoyed introducing a wider colour range, but somehow the design seemed a little complex, so here is the final design after cropping!

Ucare has their auction of artwork by professionals, celebrities and amateurs. At the moment my 76cm x 38cm oil painting and many of the others, can be bought for just £25 – the starting bid – check out the auction site and place your bids. http://www.lotsofcharity.com/ucare-auction.
