Daily Painting – Primroses in a tiny vase

Primroses in a tiny vase 30-03
Primroses in a tiny vase 30-03 now available here

And it’s the 1st April – I need to think of some pranks…

You can see the shadows I was blogging about yesterday, when I did my mock-up for the large African vase painting. These little primroses are the first painting on the new Silent Auction www.linkerrdesign.co.uk/silent-auction/ This tiny pebble-like vase was made for me by a friend, Louise Dryden, almost 30 years ago. In our little village there are banks of these delicious little primroses and I am so enjoying them on my morning walks.

The March silent auction is over and nearly all the paintings now hang on other people’s walls! This month the auction is going to be a small one, because I have already sold some of the April paintings and I had a big commission. But all the ‘sold’ April ones are on the website too, so that you can get a flavour of my work and make requests. Requests have to be seasonal as I work from life!

My excuse for so few paintings, is that I created a HUGE painting for the charity auction U-Care, and four small tulip paintings. You’ll hear more about that later.

Off to York today to give a workshop on one of my favourite lettering artists – David Jones. I’ve been partly preparing the backgrounds so that we can optimise our time and all do some stunning lettering.
