Looking back at 2015 – flowers

I began the year  stylising by layering (which did not quite work for me as these seem to lack lustre and to be a bit forced). I then painted tulips and irises, loosening up as I went.

I have loved doing these watercolours, but I am not sure where I am going with these as I plan to do a lot of oil painting this year. I’ll just let the year unfold.

The watercolours I have planned to do is a series of slightly naive house portraits…following on from my final conclusions after doing urban sketching for a whole month. See the next blog
