Looking back at 2015 – Art with kids

January 5, 2016 by Lin Kerr 2 Comments

I did two main projects with children last year – the village church in Chilton and the village shop in East Hendred.

I did the village church with my granddaughters and three other little girls, starting in Winter and finishing in Spring. (They monoprinted the paper and did rubbings of the headstones).

With Rose’s Gaudi Barcelona fantasy castle (the village church?) above.

Then I was asked to do art with year 6 at East Hendred. We began with preparing canvasses for the painting (I am currently doing my own version of this village shop, but I doubt whether I can evoke this amount of charm.

I have just received my copy of Dance, Thank you. Wow what can I say it is an absolutely beautiful book.
The question is, will you be making any of those stunning illustrations in the book available as prints?

      Hi Des
Thanks so much, but the short answer is ‘No!’
The long answer is: Getting prints done means more running around, financial outlay, mounting and framing and the very worst – more marketing!! So until I get famous or find someone to market for me – originals only. In the end, making prints means less ‘art-time’.
But I have one A4 print available which is the same image as the cover and has the word ‘poised’ written up the side (from before I made that decision). xxx
