There are lots of these lovely Palm trees around the pool at the condo where we stayed in Singapore. This is one of my favourite Palm trees. Two other palms that really took my fancy were the silver grey palm tree below
and the Travellers Palm – a story is that it is so named because it always faces in the same direction and enables travellers to navigate. Another version is that it collects water at the base of its leaves for thirsty travellers. It has an unusual and beautiful structure but it’s not really a palm – it is a member of the Strelizia family – Streliziacea.
So much to draw and so little time!
