Whenever you look at the harbour there are dozens of ships – this was done in the evening when the White bridges of the ships were illuminated by the late afternoon sun and the sea was a deep turquoise-blue. This morning it is overcast and the White sea has merged with the sky and the ships are grey shadows. The painting below was done from the sitting room in the morning light, with the window framing the scene.

This is a popular port because it is in international waters, and Singapore is safe from pirates.
Lovely sketches and drawings, Lin – you make me feel like I’m there with you!
