On Wednesday I showed you the little book I made for Isabel for Christmas. I also made books for the others and luckily Hattie and Nomi both got the same gift of Schleich pandas, so I could duplicate that one. The font is Italica-next by Monica Dengo.
For Elva I did “When daddy was a dinosaur” and it is about when her father was tiny and loved dinosaurs and it ends: “Daddy got quite old (36); and he made an app. about dinosaurs, so that all the little kids in the whole wide world will love them like he did”.
Then I got really twee and scaled them down to make teeny tiny ones for the dolls’ houses. Scroll down to see these!
This is the template and the wonderful thing is that you do it on an A4 sheet, print it on both sides, and you have two books. Its worth making 2 books at once as it saves you thinking and doing your head in about how to make the pages back each other correctly! Not much extra ink and paper really!
The cover is printed onto another sheet and folds over on the side ends. You stitch the cover and the book at the same time using pamphlet binding. You can see pamphlet binding in a previous blog. The folded over sides gives the book a nice feel.
Misty checks out the mice reading in bed. They don’t seem that concerned!
