I gave my 8-year old granddaughter a zip up case with paintbrushes for Christmas. Actually I took half out as being unsuitable for child-art (filibert, angled and fan brushes) and replaced them with a variety of rounds. W&N and Daler Rowney supply sets of brushes at real knock-down price but you never need them all.
Last year I set a precedent by giving them little books to go with their presents and it seemed a good idea to make these brushes more special, so I wrote a little 8-page book. I gave them names and put them into a family. Note that I am Granny Lin Flat Wash! I used Monica Dengo’s school handwriting font: Italica-Next.
I’ll show the template in a day or two of “The Easiest Way in the World to make an A7 sized Eight Page Book”. I tried downloading images of paintbrushes from the internet, but they looked so awful, I just sat down and did some little paintings.
