A Red Letter Day was a special day in the Scriptorium when all the important letters in a manuscript were painted in vermilion. This is an open calligraphy group for anyone to join at any level from beginners to advanced at Limetrees Studio, Chilton, working at their own pace on the 2nd Wednesday of most months, beginning on 12 January. Possibilities are endless – experimental work, learn a new alphabet, study gilding, make a book, learn how to draw, try new techniques, work on your own project.
Lin has a well-equipped studio with a lightbox, book press, computer, scanner and library. She works with formal and creative design and lettering, and uses
most media – watercolours, gouache, acrylic, oils, layering, fine detail painting, gilding, and book craft.

This is an ongoing teaching class (not a drop-in class) of a small group of participants.
The cost is £36 per month, payable one month in advance. Email Lin Kerr for an enrolment form or more details.

Open Studio - One to One
Lin opens her studio on a one-to-one basis or for 2-3 people to teach techniques, chat about personal artistic / calligraphic directions or help with a specific project, such as...
